Waiting for Tuesday
Still waiting around, woohoo.
Yesterday we had the kids from 9:30 am till 8:30 pm. Things went pretty smooth but now we wish we were back at our 4 square foot playgound. If we thought it was hard to entertain them outside it was even harder in the apartment. After a couple dvd's they got pretty wrestless. After picking Alex and Nikki up in the air 200 times and spinning them around and plopping them down on the bed I had about had it. I felt like I just run 10 miles. We took them across the street to the big playground or military zone. There were even more potential hazards in this place. Sheet metal pieces that seem to be perfect for frisbeeing at unsuspecting victims, more inviting spikes out of the ground, about 3 metric tons of broken glass and who knows what else. I was sure I would come across a couple fresh land mines but none were to be found. I am still looking.
We actually played for a couple hours and that seemed to take some of the steam out of them. Judy and I alternated with each of them. It seems if you don't keep them guessing all the time they get bored pretty quickly. Tarzan and Jane are still learning.
While Judy was playing soccer with Alex I thought it would be cool to put Nikki up on my shoulders and walk her around under the trees. She took it upon herself to begin planting several crops on top of my head. She obviously saw some very fertile soil up there and began her seeding. We walked under cherry trees, pine trees, birch trees and so on. I think she planted the cherry trees in the upper north quadrant of my scalp and she did a good job as it is coming in nicely. I expect to bear fruit upon my return to Denver.
Side note: I am obviously at the internet cafe and Eminem over here apparently thinks that I am a big fan of 7000 decibel songs. The keyboard is shaking as I type. The look I just gave him did nothing as he just smiled. My back feels like bad yoghurt from yesterday and now I have no hearing. Excellent!!!
Does anyone want any bootleg copies of Mission Impossible III? This movie doesn't even come out until May 5th and it's already here for sale at the whopping price of $6. I would watch it but stray dogs and cats here understand Russian better than I do. I saw several dvd's from movies that just came out a few weeks ago and they are all for sale at this department store we go to. Our translator told us that it's quite common for movies to be on dvd way before they hit the big screens.
Today is Easter here in Ukraine but all the stores are still open and it seems like its just another day but I guess they have a huge midnight mass that many go to. We will be hopefully sleeping soundly. Tonight we will have the kids for the first time and we anticipate huge shenanigans from both of them. We'll see.
